Gene Dobie

President

Gene first came to fort McMurray as an employee of Bond-A-Ply in 1976, shortly after the permanent office was established. In 1988, he joint ventured with the Van Spronsen family of Dawson Creek, BC. Gene is a Journeyman in Sheet Metal & Roofing, and his educational and training background includes Business Management, Communications and Human Relations, WCB Post Injury Loss Reduction, and CCA Gold Seal Project Management. Gene oversees all aspects of business including planning and development, customer, labour, and public relations, financial stewardship and profitability, community involvement, contract & legal requirements, providing the means for safety and quality performance, and establishing, maintaining and improving policies and guidelines. Gene has managed such projects as the RMWB MRF expansion, ABB Office and Warehouse, Terracon Geotechnique office complex (including green roof!), Horse River Wildfire Residential Rebuilds, and countless oil sands projects.

FUN FACT:

Gene enjoys traveling to the Carribbean and at 60 yrs old still plays tennis and snowboards on a regular basis!

Jason King

Senior Project Superintendent

Jason joined the Genron family in 1994. He is a Journeman Sheet Metal and Iron Worker, a CWB Welding Supervisor, and took the Better Supervision and Leadership for Safety Excellence training. Jason is responsible for site management, including planning, organizing, directing and controlling execution, scheduling, project administration, labour management, quality assurance, cost control, and providing support to estimators. Jason has worked on such projects as RMWB Fire Hall No.1 Renovation, ABB Office and Warehouse, Wood Buffalo Housing Commercial Center, Terracon Geotechnique Office Complex, and many oils sands projects.

Jeramie Dobie

Senior Project Superintendent

Jeramie is a Journeyman Iron Worker who joined the Genron family in 2005. His additional education includes Project Management Certification, Leadership for Safety Excellence, and Better Supervision training. Jeramie is responsible for site management, including planning, organizing, directing and controlling execution, scheduling, project administration, labour management, quality assurance, cost control, and providing support to estimators. Jeramie has worked on such projects as the RMWB MRF Expansion, ABB Ofice and Warehouse, Wood Buffalo Housing Commercial Centre, Horse River Wildfire Residential Rebuilds, and many oil sands projects.

FUN FACT:

I was born and raised in Fort McMurray, so I've been in the Genron family for decades! I used to spend summer holidays from high school on a roofing crew. I think I ran my first tar pot at 15 years old...don't miss that much.

Kevin Murphy

Roofing Superintendent

Kevin is a Journeyman Red Seal Roofer who joined the Genron Family in 2007. Kevin's additional training includes HAGG Commercial Inspection Certification, Rigging Certification, Better Supervision Training, Soprema PAC+S Roofing Certification, Carlisle Single Ply Certification, CSTS, OSSA, and First Aide Training. Kevin is responsible for site management including planning, organizing, directing, and controlling execution, safety, scheduling, labour management and foreman support, quality assurance, and estimating support. Kevin has worked on countless roofing projects over the last decade including Keyano College, River Park Glen Condo Complex, Jubilee Centre, Westwood High School, Eagle Ridge Condos, RMWB Snye Point PA Building, and various school and oil sands projects.

FUN FACT:

Kevin started his first summer job as a farmer at jus t 10 years old, entered his first motor cross race at 13, and began his roofing career in 1986! Kevin married his high school sweetheart, loves playing guitar, and is thankful to be a part of the Genron team.

Craig Alexander

Project Manager

Craig joined the Genron family in 1997. Craig is a Certified Engineering Technologist with the Alberta Society of Engineering Technologists, holds a CAD Diploma of Technology, a Mineral Technology Diploma, and a Moisture Control Certificate. Craig is responsible for planning and development, customer, labour, and public relations, contract and legal requirements, financial stewardship and profitability, community involvement, and providing the means for safety and quality performance. Craig has been at the helm of many projects, including RMWB Fire Hall No.1 renovations, RMWB Regional Fall Protection, Stanton Hospital Roofing in Yellowknife, NT, and countless oil sands projects.

FUN FACT:

Craig enjoys the outdoors, hunting, camping, and spending time with his family. Once winter rolls around, you can usually find him at the hockey rink cheering on his two boys in their hockey games!

Mark Cramm

Product Manager

Mark is a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker who joined the Genron Family in 1998. His additional education includes HAGG Commercial Inspector certification, a certificate in Computer Aided Drafting, a certificate in Basic Drafting, RCI Roof Technology and Science Training, Better Supervision Training, Safety Leadership Training, Principles of Health & Safety, WHMIS Training, and Auditor Training. Mark is responsible for planning and development, customer, labour, and public relations, contract and legal requirements, financial stewardship and profitability, community involvement, and providing the means for safety and quality performance. He has been at the helm of such projects as Operating Engineers Local 955 Building Renovation, Holy Trinity and Ecole Mctavish Schools wall cladding, Elsie Yanik, Dave McNeilly, and Christina Gordon Schools roofing, Islamic Centre Roofing, and numerous oils sands projects.
